And the work continues to evolve.

I am posting a couple more tracks (well, links to them). Both use essentially the same samples but a different impact is felt in each mostly due to me approach to mixing. For one, I feel it is more upbeat and for the other is more subtle and introspective. I like the introspective one better, it reflects more clearly what I am going after.

Interesting. This is an amazingly privileged opportunity to dedicate myself to making work and I am so grateful for it. But I have come to a place where I feel exhausted, there is something to engaging in the creative act all the time that works on you. There is the constant nagging doubts about how the work will get received (notice how hard I am trying to to use the words good and bad). This is always there whenever a decision is taken, I would imagine this is where the fatigue comes from.

I do have matters to attend to home in Corner Brook and will use that to take a day or two off and come back reinvigorated and ready to keep exploring.

Afterglow, and then so.

Had a slow day today, contemplative. Something I find that is inevitable when I show work is a kind of melancholy that immediately follows it. It is as if something has now left you and time needs to be given to grieving.

Silent Doors.

I had a pretty good FaceBook show last night, I saw quite a few more viewers in my numbers than I anticipated (117 at this moment). It would still be much more comfortable if I had someone handling the video and broadcast side. Way too many buttons to keep track of!

Bifurcation, not updownaround.

Today was spent gathering myself, thinking more deeply about the material I have been collecting. And now, as I listen to Nurse With Wound‘s Stereo Wastelands, I realize that I must stay on this course, remain confident. Steven Stapleton, Nurse With Wound, has a unique approach using samples from popular culture and incredibly effective noises from the surroundings.
